ND Business Certifications
Disadvantaged business enterprises and women owned businesses may be afforded special consideration for contracts awarded by certain agencies. It may also be advantageous for private businesses to subcontract with minority-owned entities. For these reasons, it is important that women-owned, Native American-owned and other minority-owned businesses acquire proof of their minority status.
Women Owned Business Certification
The Center for Technology & Business is authorized by the ND Department of Commerce to examine applicants’ documentation and qualify the applicant for status as a Certified Women Owned Business in the State of North Dakota.
DBE - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
You must register for DBE Certification to do business with the ND Department of Transportation. This program is separate from Women Owned Business Certification and the process is not conducted by Center for Technology & Business.
The designation DBE includes minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals whose businesses relate to some facet of the transportation industry. This includes metropolitan planning organizations, transit organizations, railroads, highways, and airports.
