Business Technology Acceleration Program


Understanding new technologies and current online marketing strategies is crucial to maintaining and growing a successful business in this day and age.

The Business Technology Acceleration Program is an intense six month training period focused on business technology tools through the use of a mobile technology lab. 

Throughout the program, participants will hear from top business and technology experts that will guide and challenge participants to take the next steps in developing strategic solutions for business growth through accelerated technology training. Participants will benefit from personalized attention and individual business analysis as well as group exercises and trainings.

Each session is limited to the first 12 registrants so register early!
All sessions will be held at the Community Learning & Technology Center (55 1st St SE, Beach ND).
There is a $10, non-refundable, registration fee per workshop - due at time of registration.

Workshop 1 -  Online Business Reputation Management 

September 29, 9am - Noon
Participants will gain an understanding of the importance in developing and maintaining a strong online brand that effectively communicates the capabilities and image of a business. There will be hands on training in researching business reputations and learning tools to correct or build a positive reputation online.

Workshop 2 - Social Media for Professional Use

October 27, 2015, 9am - Noon

Participants will learn strategies and marketing techniques for how social media can be used for business growth. There will be hands on training in a variety of social media platforms, including industry essentials like Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.

Workshop 3 - Investment in Efficiency Through Mobile Apps

November 24, 2015, 9am - Noon
Instructor Travis Wipperling with Verizon Wireless

Participants will gain an understanding in how to use mobile applications and online technology for making business processes more efficient. There will be hands on training in a variety of business applications.

Workshop 4 - WordPress Blogging and Website Presence

December 29, 2015, 9am - 1pm (last hour is optional)
Instructor Pamela Thompson aka "Dakota Pam"

Participants will receive training in WordPress, the industry standard for blogging, to create a website with blog capacity. Training will cover how to use the site to professionally expand the marketability of a business and ways to earn money online. There will be hands on training in setting up and using WordPress.

Workshop 5 & 6 - Combined

March 30, 2016, 9am - 1pm 

Part A: Virtual IT and Cloud Usage

Participants will gain an understanding of the concept of Cloud management for business success, including cost savings over traditional information technology management and capacity for a mobile and remote workforce. There will be hands on training in exploring Cloud use and new business solutions such as Microsoft 365.

Part B: Mobile POS Systems and Accepting Electronic Payments

Participants will receive information and training on how to use technology for a mobile point-of-sale system and easy ways to accept electronic payments. Options that make the customer experience more user friendly and allow for more seamless business management. There will be hands on training in using mobile POS systems and electronic payment options.
