CTB Kicks Off Business Technology Acceleration Program

Online Business Reputation Management Trainings

Center for Technology and Business (CTB) held the first sessions of the Business Technology Acceleration Program in March. The six month long series of workshops, held in Bowman and Dickinson, are made possible by a Rural Business Opportunity Grant from USDA Rural Development with local programming support from the Strom Center and Bowman County Development Corporation. Thanks to the grant, CTB was able to purchase a mobile technology lab featuring Microsoft Surface tablets to aide in providing hands on training in essential business technologies to the participants.

The first in the series of workshops was Online Business Reputation Management. A variety of small business owners and community members participated in the trainings.

Participants gained an understanding of the importance in developing and maintaining a strong online brand that effectively communicates the capabilities and image of a business. There was hands on training in researching business reputations and learning tools to correct and build a positive reputation online.

Participants also had the opportunity to win great door prizes thanks to the Microsoft Community Connections program.

CTB is still taking registrations for the following workshops:

  • Social Media for Professional Use with Wild Inspire
  • Investment in Efficiency Through Mobile Apps with Verizon Wireless
  • WordPress Blogging and Website Presence with Wild Inspire
  • Virtual IT and Cloud Usage with North River IT
  • Mobile POS Systems and Accepting Electronic Payments with Center for Technology & Business
