What is Cooperative Purchasing

A cooperative contract is a contract that is made available to other government entities. It might be a state contract that is made available to agencies, political subs, university systems, public schools or even other states. This allows others to benefit from the state contract discounts we have received.

The State Procurement Office can enter into cooperative contracts with the Federal General Services Administration or GSA, another state, or a purchasing consortium. We continually monitor for cooperative purchasing opportunities that are in the best interest of the State.

Remember, cooperative contracts can benefit:

  • State agencies
  • Political subdivisions
  • University systems
  • Public schools
  • Other states
