Doing Business with the State of ND

Where YOU Fit In

The State Procurement Office maintains a list of individuals and businesses desiring to provide goods and services to the State.

Remember, for solicitations…

  • Under $25,000 – state agencies are encouraged to use the list
  • Over $25,000 – state agencies must use the list

State law requires that procurement officers rotate vendors solicited on an equitable basis when making small purchases. For example, let’s say that an agency has a reoccurring need for lumber and they have two lumber yards in their area. They cannot make all of their purchases from one lumber yard. If they are only obtaining one quote, then they rotate which vendor they call. This creates a fair opportunity for both bidders to do business with the State.

In doing business with the State of North Dakota, here’s where YOU fit in:

  • Your registration as a bidder lets you receive notice of state bidding opportunities
  • Your research and your visits to our website (www.nd.gov/spo) prepare you to bid
  • Your preparation and planning lead to a thorough, complete bid response
  • Your competitive bids can win you contracts
  • Your feedback helps us improve
