Creating Personal Relationships in Business – Part 3

Now, put yourself in your customers’ shoes.

  • Over the course of all of that interaction, what would make a company stand out to you?
  • Who you like to do business with?  Who do you tell your friends and family about on a regular basis?
  • Who have you been pleasantly surprised by?

This can give you some good insight into what others might appreciate of you. It all can go back to the Golden Rule! Treat your customers like gold and they’ll think you rule! Just kidding – although that will be a part of it!  Treat your customers how you would love to be treated when you do business. Do it with sincerity and pleasure and you will be rewarded with lifelong customers and great relationships.

Now that you head is spinning with ideas that you want to rush out implement today, just pick one thing to do to get started. Learn it and do it really well. Then add another and do that really well. Then add another…you get the idea. That way you won’t get overwhelmed.  You won’t drop the ball once you get started, you won’t miss any groups, and you will give people the impression that you will keep your word and that they can rely on you. Because you will keep your word and they can rely on you, right. You do not want to be starting and stopping, and you do not want to let any client slip through the cracks – what you do for one you will want to do for all. Customers talk to each other, especially in the age of social media! And we want them all saying great things. They need to all be having the same wonderful experience with you, so that no one feels left out or slighted. This is what creates champions! This is what will work wonders for your business and for your relationships!

Now, get to work!  Tell us what personal touch you are going to add first.  Are you already doing something great that your clients love and appreciate?   Share it with us to give others even more ideas!  We can’t wait to see you all grow!  And we can’t wait to hear about your successes!
